Disney Xtreme Digital (DXD) — Interactive Community Launch
Overview
Helped launch and scale Disney Xtreme Digital (DXD) — an interactive online environment on Disney.com that allowed users to watch videos, play games, collect virtual items, chat, and participate in social-networking features within a branded, IP-driven ecosystem.
The platform represented one of The Walt Disney Company’s earliest immersive digital community experiences, combining entertainment, interactivity, and fan engagement in a single environment.
The Disney.com redesign and DXD were announced at CES in 2007 by Bob Iger in his keynote address. Disney.com was awarded an Emmy in 2007 in partnership with Disney Channel for the Disney Channel Games on Disney Xtreme Digital.
Role
As Lead Producer, directed strategy, development, and production of digital content and interactive media experiences across Disney’s global online platforms.
For DXD and related initiatives:
Oversaw day-to-day content strategy and development
Partnered with product and engineering to bring interactive features to life
Collaborated cross-functionally with Legal, Creative, and Marketing
Ensured brand integrity and technical accuracy across immersive digital builds
Challenge
At the time, large-scale interactive communities for kids were still emerging.
The opportunity was to:
Extend beloved Disney IP into interactive digital spaces
Create a safe, branded social environment for young audiences
Integrate video, gaming, chat, and collectible features cohesively
Maintain Disney-level brand standards within a dynamic, user-driven environment
The platform had to feel immersive while operating within strict compliance and safety guidelines.
Strategy
1. Interactive Content & Experience Design
Developed programming frameworks that blended video, games, and social features
Brought franchise IP to life through customizable avatars, collectibles, and themed environments
2. Cross-Functional Enterprise Collaboration
Worked closely with internal stakeholders to align legal compliance, creative storytelling, and technical execution
3. Branded Storytelling Extensions
Produced digital-first series and activations across Disney.com
Led projects including revival initiatives such as The Muppets Kitchen with Cat Cora
Elevated Disney Insider (4M+ email subscribers, 1M+ monthly site views) into a key content hub

This work laid foundational experience in platform thinking, product collaboration, and immersive audience engagement that informed later media-tech and product-aligned leadership roles.
